Some attacks don’t come loud. They come in whispers. You feel it in your bones. You dream of coffins. You hear of sudden deaths. You sense something trying to pull you or your loved ones into the grave before time. That’s not normal. That’s the spirit of death—and it must be cancelled.
This post is not for fear. It’s for warfare. For people who know that Jesus came to give us life, and anything less than that is not of God. We will not keep quiet while death circles our homes. We will speak the Word. We will cancel it. We will live.
Here are Bible verses to cancel the spirit of death. Keep them close. Speak them often.
Psalm 118:17 – I Shall Not Die but Live
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
—Psalm 118:17 (KJV)
Simple. Bold. Final. This is the declaration that kills the spirit of death. Speak it over your life. Over your children. Over your parents. Say it until every shadow of death vanishes.
Pray it like this:
“I shall not die. My family shall not die. We will live and declare the works of the Lord. Every appointment with death—cancelled!”
John 10:10 – The Thief Comes to Kill, But Jesus Came to Give Life
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life…”
—John 10:10 (KJV)
The spirit of death is a thief. It sneaks in through fear, accidents, sickness, depression. But Jesus already exposed its pattern. And He gave us the answer: life, and life more abundantly.
Pray it like this:
“I reject every plan of the thief. I receive life. I speak abundant life into my body, my soul, my family. The spirit of death has no power here.”
Psalm 91:16 – With Long Life Will I Satisfy Him
“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”
—Psalm 91:16
Not just life—but long life. And not a life full of sickness, but a life that satisfies. If you haven’t been satisfied yet, it’s not your time to go.
Pray it like this:
“Lord, You promised me long life. I receive it. Every premature death trying to take me before my time—I cancel you now in Jesus’ name!”
Isaiah 25:8 – He Will Swallow Up Death in Victory
“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces…”
—Isaiah 25:8
This is the God we serve. He doesn’t just delay death—He swallows it. Cancels it. Ends it. And He wipes away the tears that come with it.
Pray it like this:
“God of victory, swallow up every death sentence spoken over my life. Every tear scheduled for me or my family—wipe it away, Lord.”
2 Timothy 1:10 – Christ Has Abolished Death
“…our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”
—2 Timothy 1:10
Death used to rule. But Jesus came, and abolished it. So why should we fear what has already been defeated?
Pray it like this:
“Jesus, You abolished death. Let that victory speak over me. Let every death spirit assigned to me be removed by Your power.”
Ezekiel 18:32 – I Have No Pleasure in the Death of Anyone
“For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”
—Ezekiel 18:32 (ESV)
God does not enjoy watching people die before their time. His desire is for us to live. And He says—turn, and live. That’s an instruction. That’s a lifeline.
Pray it like this:
“Lord, You take no pleasure in death. I turn from every wrong path. I choose life. Let Your mercy preserve me.”
Revelation 1:18 – I Hold the Keys of Death and Hell
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore… and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Death does not have the final say. Jesus holds the keys now. And if He says “not today,” then not today.
Pray it like this:
“Jesus, You hold the keys. Lock the door of death. Keep me and my family in the land of the living.”
Hebrews 2:14-15 – Deliver Us from the Fear of Death
“…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death… and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
—Hebrews 2:14-15
Fear of death is also a prison. And Jesus broke the chains. Don’t let your mind become a graveyard. Cancel death even in your thoughts.
Pray it like this:
“I refuse to fear death. I am delivered. Jesus has destroyed that spirit. I walk in life, not in fear.”
Psalm 23:4 – Though I Walk Through the Valley of Death… I Will Not Fear
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…”
—Psalm 23:4
The shadow of death may come close. But it will not win. You’re walking through, not dying there.
Pray it like this:
“Even if I walk through the valley, I will not fear. You are with me, Lord. The shadow will not touch me. I will live.”
1 Corinthians 15:55 – O Death, Where Is Your Sting?
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
—1 Corinthians 15:55
Death has no sting when Jesus is in the room. We mock it with Scripture. We cancel it with authority.
Pray it like this:
“Death, you have no sting over me. Grave, you have no victory. Jesus has conquered you, and I walk in that victory.”
Declare It Loud: I Cancel the Spirit of Death
We don’t whisper when we pray about death. We declare boldly. We cancel it with Scripture. We reject it with faith. We speak life, even when we feel the darkness trying to creep in.
So if the spirit of death has been circling your house—cancel it.
If it has touched your dreams, your emotions, your health, your family—cancel it.
You are not powerless. You are not at the mercy of bad news. You are covered.
The Word is your sword. Use it. With these Bible verses to cancel the Spirit of Death I am confident that you are fully equipped to wage war against the devil and his gimmicks.

Death has no final say. I live because Jesus lives.
