Prayer for April 18 – Lord, Speak to Me Again
Sometimes it feels like God is silent. You pray. You wait. You open your Bible. You listen to sermons. And still, it feels like heaven is quiet. But silence is not absence. The teacher is often silent during the test, not because they’re gone, but because the time has come for you to apply what you’ve learned. Still, that ache to hear God again is real. And today, we bring that desire to Him.
This prayer is for those who miss God’s voice. For those who used to hear Him clearly but now feel surrounded by static. For those who long for one whisper, one confirmation, one fresh word that says, “I still see you.” God is not finished speaking. He never is. Sometimes, we just need to clear the noise and lean in again.
Bible Verse for April 18
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10 verse 27
Prayer for April 18
Father,
I miss hearing You. I miss the clarity I used to have, the peace that would rise when You spoke a word into my spirit. Lately, it has felt quiet. Too quiet. I know You are near. I know Your Word is still alive. But my heart needs help. I am asking You today, please speak to me again.
Help me silence the other voices I’ve allowed to grow louder than Yours. The fear. The noise. The social opinions. The pressure. The doubt. All of it. Clear the clutter in my soul and let Your voice rise again. Remind me of what You already said. Remind me of what I’ve forgotten. Remind me of who I am and who You are.
If I’ve drifted, pull me back. If I’ve gotten too distracted, slow me down. If I’ve been too busy doing things for You that I forgot to be with You, forgive me. I don’t just want Your blessings. I want to hear Your heart. I want to recognize Your leading, not guess my way through life. I want Your Spirit to guide my decisions, comfort my soul, and restore my joy.
Even if it’s a whisper, Lord, I’m listening. Even if it’s through a verse, a song, a friend, a stranger — I’m ready to hear You again. And when You speak, I will not take it lightly. I will treasure it, obey it, and thank You for it.
Speak, Lord. Your child is listening.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
